Well, I think i've decided. decided what you ask? well, the whole of our country and that other one to the south of us have groundhog day and look into the meaning of the poor critters shadow as either a reason to celebrate and start spring shopping or as a reason to cry and be depressed for encore a little/longer while.
Quebec has their own language, politics, sovereignty (or they're trying to anyways...!) so why should they follow this groundhog stuff when really folks, it can't possibly be applicable to us out here. i mean really, does the 'hog even speak french?!?!?!?
Now, to the image in this post. Last week ( a few short weeks after the celebrated g-hog day you might notice) I was about to get into my beautiful, lovely, wonderful, awesome (ummm, enough of that right? i should just say i like my car a little)... jeep and I chanced to look down and guess what i saw?!?!?! asphalt! the first driveway sighting of well, my driveway since uh, i think december? maybe it was november... i know the kids were in snowsuits for hallowe'en... anyways, you get the picture. So, I now decree that there will be only 6 more weeks of winter and then spring will be on it's way. (6 weeks instead of the possible 10 or so that was last years end of snow storms - yep - we had snow in may last year).

in other news, I'm heading off to panama in about 3 weeks to escape this white winter wonderland - only for daniel and helena and george i can assure you!
